Recharge Fundraiser
As we give thanks to God during this "Recharge" season we have a vision to kickstart a $25,000 fundraising campaign that, God-willing, will continue throughout 2025 to employ a dedicated, part-time, kids ministry worker, in 2026.
"Little Lights"
Imagine this: It’s a Sunday morning, and our church is filled with the sounds of laughter and little footsteps. Every room is buzzing with activity. You peek into the kids area, and there they are—the “Little Lights” of our church, busy creating, learning, and growing.
Now, imagine someone who knows each child by name, who can tell the story of Jonah in a way that it feels like the fish is swimming right up to your toes! That’s what a Kids Ministry Worker does. This isn’t just someone watching over a crowd of kids—it’s someone who helps guide them through big questions with little words, and who helps kids know that church is a place they belong to, every single week.
As many of you know, we have been blessed with a wonderful team of volunteers who give their time and energy to make church special for kids. But as the ministries grow they deserve the kind of care that only a dedicated ministry worker can provide.
Here’s the fun part. We have a vision to bring a Kids Ministry Worker on board, and we need everyone’s help to make this happen! Imagine each $10, $20, or $100 given as a pebble dropped into a pond, each one making ripples that spread out. You are investing in kids who will one day carry the torch of the gospel far beyond our local church.
So, this month, as we set our sights on making this dream a reality, we invite everyone to be part of the journey. Let’s work together to bring on the support our kids need. Because when we make a place for the Little Lights to shine, our whole community shines a little brighter, too.

Why Now?
In 2024 we had a consultation with Reach Australia to help us in our strategic plan as a church. They highlighted a number of strengths in our church and some areas to give attention to in the short term. One of those was to restructure our current staff team to ensure that our Engage Focus area, which covers our welcoming, integration, hospitality and pastoral care ministry, was given more specific leadership.

After much prayer and conversation we have decided to make our current Families Minister, Tim, our Engage Pastor. Tim will also continue to be the Youth Pastor. Having one of our full-time ministers overseeing this Engage Focus Area we believe will allow this important part of church mission and life to thrive.

At the end of 2024, we will also bid farewell to our wonderful Student Minister, Tash, who will move onto another church as part of her training for full-time vocational ministry. Tash has invested heavily in our kids church ministry on Sundays and we will miss her teaching, creativity, training, and leadership.

That means, we need to raise support for a new ministry worker to continue to lead our wonderful ministry to kids in the church and local community. And you can partner with us!

What about the Building Fund?
We always welcome regular or one-off donations to our building fund. We still have big plans for the development of the "Green-House" site and your contributions are important. However, it has become apparent that to undertake a major development of the site like we have envisioned will require major external financial partners. There has been a number of interested parties in recent times, both from government and the private sector, who might be willing to partner with us. Praise God!

Due to these factors, we have decided to focus our fundraising this "Recharge" season on our immediate ministry needs. Depending on how consultations proceed with external partners, we may return to internal fundraising in future years.

God willing we hope to do the following in 2025:
-
Finalise a master property plan for the whole site. We thank Reach Australia for giving us some great industry contacts to see this become a reality. We plan to use a small portion of funds already raised to develop this master plan.
-
Consultations with Sydney Anglican Property to outline feasible pathways to property development in line with our ministry and master plan.

Please pray for our wardens and parish council as these important conversations happen in 2025.
